Chapter 1428

“You’re talking about that time when the Lyons family threw a party, and it ended with most heirs of the six major families getting hurt and Mrs. Compton at the police station?”

Bryson took two steps back and leaned against the courtyard wall outside Wallace’s villa, his eyes betraying a cold intensity.
While the guards continued their conversation, Bryson scaled the courtyard wall silently and settled into a discreet corner.
He had visited the villa previously and was familiar with its blind spots; he slipped inside without a sound.
Bryson entered through a rear window, navigating by the glow of a few dim lights scattered through the villa.
Recalling his last visit, he remembered Wallace’s study was on the second floor, tucked away in the farthest corner.

Hearing nothing inside, he gently turned the knob.
The door was locked.
Pressing his body against the wood, he deftly used a passkey to unlock it and eased the door open.
Once inside, he quickly locked the door from within, pulled out his phone, and switched on the flashlight to search the room.

His expression hardened, and he swiftly concealed himself behind the curtains.
Wallace’s voice echoed from the doorway. “Have I ever taken your concerns lightly?”
Suddenly, the lights in the study flickered on.
Wallace moved to the computer desk, took a seat, and rubbed his nose.
“I’m not interested in cooperating. Luckily, due to other complications, we haven’t finalized anything this time.”
“Although it’s a big deal this time, he won’t back down easily. He’s bound to stir up trouble soon,” Wallace continued.
The person on the other end of the line said something.
